Another guest blogger! How lucky am I?! This time, my almost-nine-year-old daughter Emily chimes in, endorsing one of her favorite books.
Here's Emily's recommendation:
Holes is a book about a boy named Stanley who is wrongly accused of stealing a pair of shoes. Stanley is sent off to prison camp in the desert, where everyone digs holes. There are many poisonous animals, little water, and a villainous headmistress. Stanley must survive all of this. It's a great book, full of adventure.
For what it's worth, I love HOLES too. I've meant to blog about it, and I'm grateful to Emily for beating me to it. I particularly like the structure of the book, which is unusual. Check it out. Let us know what you think.
