Dicey's Song (Middle-Grade Fiction)

Dicey's Song (The Tillerman Series #2) is the book that inspired me to try children's book writing.  I read it and thought, "I want to do that.  I won't be able to, but I can try.  And if it's an eighth as good, well, that's something." 

DICEY'S SONG is the story of tough, loving Dicey and her three siblings, who've moved in with their previously estranged grandmother because their mother is sick.  Dicey takes care of her siblings, and a couple of kids from her sub-par school start to take care of her.  I don't remember a flaw in the book, and I don't care to hear about one.  I like it just the way I remember it.

Cynthia Voigt has written other books about Dicey and her family.  I tried one, didn't like it as much, and haven't tried the others.  That may have been a mistake.
